  • Road Map Found On A Bus Called "Further" - detail

Materials: Acrylic on wood, gold leaf, on panel

Dimensions: 28" X 60" x 6"

The title for this piece was inspired by the American author Ken Kesey's infamous school bus named "Further". In 1964 the so called "Merry Band of Pranksters" travelled across the USA filming their exploits in this brightly coloured bus that was an obvious homage to the drug fuelled psychedelia of the day. The bus was named by artist Roy Sebern who first painted the word “Further” on its front as a kind of one-word poem and inspiration to keep on going!

Peter's piece is a reflection of a possible psychedelic map found inside the brightly coloured gilded bus.
